In recognition of our demonstrated excellence in obstetric anesthesia care, we are pleased to announce that both UCSF and ZSFG have been designated as Centers of Excellence by the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP). This designation is based on our current clinical practice, and includes but is not limited to the following criteria:
Personnel
OB Anesthesia leadership must be board certified and fellowship trained
OB Anesthesia leadership and team members must show evidence of ongoing participation in continuing medical education relevant to the practice of OB anesthesia
There must be dedicated coverage of obstetric patients at the institution
