Administrative Operations

The department has Administrative Operations’ Units supporting personnel at Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mount Zion and ZSFG. The units provide services to all department missions-- clinical, education, research and faculty affairs.

Provides management, leadership and expertise for all billable Facilities Services support requests. Works with the UCSF Office of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) to fulfill furniture ergonomic requests, manages department’s Archibus space inventory database tool and serves as the primary point of contact for department events.

Provides high-level (senior-level, major-level) administrative, project management and analytical support to the chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia, chief of Pediatric Anesthesia, chief of Obstetric Anesthesia and Adult Anesthesia. Also provides full general administrative operations support services for Anesthesia faculty.

Provides administrative support to the director of Mount Zion and supports the compensation committee. Responsibilities at Mount Zion and Mission Bay hospitals include mail delivery, pantry orders, coffee/tea/water supplies for the lounges, maintenance, reimbursements and any other general administrative needs. Supports the Administrative Officer 3.

 

 

ZSFGH Anesthesia Business Office 

The ZSFGH Anesthesia Business Office (ABO) manages administrative operations at this location. Services include reporting department budgets; managing staff, facilities, space management, staff transitions, onboarding and offboarding; assuring compliance with regulatory requirements for UCSF and the Department of Public Health.

Oversees department’s administrative operations, personnel processes, facilities functions, and financial oversight for expenses and general facilities at ZSFG. Manages credentialing for clinical practitioners; Archibus space management and EPIC systems; personnel functions, such as onboarding and offboarding, promotions, salary actions, and performance evaluations.

Responsible for operational services in support of maintenance operations, coordination and dissemination of communications; maintenance of standard operating procedures for the ABO unit; Bear Buy, MyExpense, contracts and invoices; purchase of pantry items, office supplies; room/event reservations; coordination of ZSFG badge access; oversees faculty vacation submissions; coordinates vendors for receptions and events; identifies inventory deficiencies; and provides back-up support to executive officer for chief of anesthesia.

Prepares credentialing reappointments and new credentialing applications for faculty and CRNAs at ZSFG, as well as onboarding for faculty, CRNAs and workroom technicians. Responsibilities include coordination of equipment for new hires; backup to all ABO administrative officer roles and to executive assistant to chief of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care at ZSFG.
