Pictured are human astrocytes immunostained for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP, yellow) which is an intermediate filament involved in the function and structure of cell's cytoskeleton. These particular astrocytes have been differentiated from human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. Cell nuclei are labeled with Hoechst (blue).
