Professor Lawrence Poree, MD, PhD, MPH, was the plenary speaker for the Faculty of Pain Medicine section of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Annual Scientific Meeting this year. Director of the UCSF Neuromodulation Service and the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) Liaison to the International Neuromodulation Society (INS), Dr. Poree was interviewed about the current status and future direction of neuromodulation therapies worldwide. Specifically, Dr. Poree describes how improved understanding of physiology and device technology have improved neuromodulation success rates, the use of different wave form modalities, individualized treatments, expanded therapeutic options provided by DRG stimulation (versus standard neuromodulation), neuromodulation data collection, and more!
