Driven by our public mission, Assistant Professor Michael Lipnick, MD, is committed to serving our diverse communities, working to achieve global health equity. As part of these efforts, he is working with Dr. Valeria Macias and Dr. Rachel Koch to organize a workshop on structural forces for health from the surgery, anesthesia, and obstetric perspective - at the next Social Medicine Consortium Conference in Chiapas, Mexico, on June 1, 2019. The conference will be held in Jaltenango, one of our Health, Equity, Action, Leadership (HEAL) Fellowship sites. The Social Medicine Consortium is “a collective of committed individuals, universities and organizations fighting for health equity through education, training, service and advocacy, with social medicine at its core.”
