CA2 Resident Michael Wu Wins Most Outstanding Case Report Award at 2017 SOAP

Under the guidance of Atisa Britton, MD (OB Anesthesia Fellow), Assistant Professor Jessica Tashjian, MD, and Assistant Professor Pedram Aleshi, MD, CA2 resident Michael Wu, MD, PhD, has won the Most Outstanding Case Report Award at the 2017 annual Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) meeting in Bellevue, Washington. The case, “Thrombosed Mechanical Heart Valves Requiring Emergent Cesarean Delivery and Extracorporeal Membranous Oxygenation,” highlights the challenges of mechanical heart valves in pregnancy and the requirement to have delivery of the fetus at an institution capable of ECMO.
