Biography Dr. Odinakachukwu (Odi) Ehie, MD, MAEd is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist with a deep commitment to medical education, global health equity, and inclusive excellence. She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and completed her anesthesiology residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. She subsequently pursued fellowship training in pediatric anesthesiology at Stanford's Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, where she also led global health education initiatives focused on perioperative care and capacity building in Vietnam. Dr. Ehie currently serves as Vice Chair for Opportunity & Outreach in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she leads departmental efforts focused on community, opportunity, recruitment, and engagement. She is also the Head of Clinical Skills Curriculum for the UC Berkeley–UCSF Joint Medical Program (JMP) and Faculty Director of Student Support for the UCSF School of Medicine, where she plays a key role in mentoring and advising medical students across all stages of training. Her educational leadership is grounded in both clinical expertise and pedagogical training—she recently earned a Masters in Education from UC Berkeley with a focus on equity-centered curriculum design and learner development. Nationally, Dr. Ehie is the Chair of the Global Health Outreach Committee for the Society for Education in Anesthesia (SEA) and serves as Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA). She is the Immediate Past Chair of the California Society of Anesthesiologists' Committee on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and continues to serve as an advisor and collaborator across multiple national inclusive excellence and global health initiatives. Through her intersecting roles as educator, clinician, and advocate, Dr. Ehie is dedicated to transforming learning environments, advancing health equity, and cultivating inclusive academic communities that reflect and serve the diversity of our patients and learners.
