Work with us!

Our Anesthesia Tech Team assumes significant clinical responsibilities, requiring tact and professionalism, especially in challenging situations. Technicians possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering confidence and sensitivity among patients and colleagues, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

What to expect

All newly hired technicians will complete a comprehensive 6 to12-week orientation (depending on previous experience) and a six-month probationary period.

The first week of orientation (40 hours on day shift) is spent with the Anesthesia Tech Supervisor to review policies and procedures and departmental protocols. The employee will be assigned a scrub account and locker. There are three days of the hospital orientations for both UCSF and ZSFG that the employee must attend during their orientation period. During the clinical portion of orientation, orientees rotate through all anesthesia service areas of the hospital with a preceptor. Orientation will consist of time on morning, evening and night shifts and with multiple preceptors.
