Mike Mullen

As a digital communications specialist, Mike’s areas of responsibility include the website and social media for the department. He seeks to provide robust support to everyone in the department with their digital communications projects, from small updates to the website, to sustained strategic efforts involving all departmental communication channels. Mike is also a photographer and available to support the department's photography needs. 

Mike joined UCSF in 2019 bringing nearly 20 years of experience in digital communications and web development to the institution. Prior to UCSF he founded and co-founded several e-commerce businesses, where he focused on digital communications, web development and photography.

Outside of UCSF he can often be found backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains, pursuing his goal of photographing all the lakes in the wilderness areas of the Sierra Nevada.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in modern American poetry from the University of California, Berkeley.
