Biography Dr. Michael Wirth is an Australian born and trained anesthesiologist who joined UCSF in 2022. He received his primary medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 2004. He completed 5 years of specialist training in anesthesia at various hospitals in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom and was awarded his FANZCA in 2013. After this he subsequently completed a 12 month fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, United Kingdom. He then worked as a specialist cardiothoracic anesthesiologist in both public and private practice in Sydney, Australia between 2014-2022 before joining the department at UCSF.
