Biography

As the Director of Culture and Belonging, Leah leads efforts to foster an inclusive and vibrant workplace environment that reflects the department’s core values. Her role involves overseeing initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and belonging, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued within the community.

Leah is responsible for a wide range of projects and programs that enhance cultural awareness and empower individuals. She coordinates activities that foster connections within the organization and the broader community, supporting education on inclusive practices and unconscious bias. Leah’s work includes comprehensive initiatives designed to support faculty members in conducting research that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across various fields.

A third-generation San Francisco native, Leah enjoys painting and horseback riding outside of work. She believes in maintaining a well-rounded life, finding that her hobbies enrich her perspective and enhance her professional contributions. Fun fact: Leah went to the Junior Olympics twice for synchronized swimming and received gold and silver medals.
