Director of Communications

Biography

Dani oversees a robust communications program that utilizes a variety of media including written, visual, digital, and electronic forms, along with technical applications. She develops and implements organizational communication strategies and market branding, supervising various communications professionals, and handles complex communications issues. She leads both internal and external communications, acting as the senior strategist for the Chair and the leadership team, and manages crisis communications. Dani is also involved in enhancing the department’s visibility and brand identity through effective communication strategies, managing the department’s public-facing website, social media platforms, and other communication materials like newsletters, event notices, and annual reports

The Communications Team Vision: 

The Anesthesia Communications Team aspires to share pertinent departmental information with all audiences across multiple channels. All departmental communications should be transparent, accurate, cohesive, and inclusive. We will provide strategic counsel, creative solutions, and timely services. The team will use data to effectively evaluate and adjust communications to improve engagement, support employee recognition and growth, create a positive work environment, and advance the department’s goals. 

Dani has worked at UCSF since 2007. She is a California native and currently lives in the North Bay with her dog, Ace. In her free time, she volunteers at a farm animal sanctuary, practices yoga, and reads for her book club. Fun fact: Dani used to be a trivia night host.
