Center for Pain Medicine Featured in the New York Times Magazine

Dr. Chris Abrecht and the Center for Pain Medicine have been featured in a recent New York Times Magazine article by Jennifer Kahn entitled, "Chronic Pain Is a Hidden Epidemic. It's Time for a Revolution." Drs. Allan Basbaum, UCSF Department of Anatomy, and Julian Motzkin, UCSF Department of Neurology and Center for Pain Medicine faculty member, were also featured in the article. Dr. Motzkin completed a Pain Medicine fellowship in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care in 2021, and all three doctors are members of the Pain and Addiction Research Center.
