Employment at UCSF qualifies you for a Fee-Waived DEA Certificate, also called Exempt or Restricted. The fee-exempt status has no bearing on prescribing and there is no difference in prescribing capabilities between an “Exempt/Restricted” and “Paid” DEA Certificate.
