Biography

Jacob supports clinical research operations within the UCSF Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care. He works in the UCSF CatLab with Dr. Catherine Chen, helping to lead a randomized clinical trial that aims to improve sedation care for cataract surgery. His work spans participant recruitment, data collection, and additional compliance documentation. Jacob partners with physicians, nurses, and research staff to streamline workflows, enhance patient experiences, and uphold accuracy, safety, and ethical conduct in clinical research.

Jacob has been part of UCSF since 2023. Originally from California’s Central Valley, he stays focused on improving healthcare access for rural and underserved communities. Before his current role, he completed an MPH at UC Berkeley and contributed to public health initiatives in pandemic response and health education. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys training for his next marathon by running in Golden Gate Park and hiking in national parks.
