Opportunity and Impact projects

At the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care, we believe that creating a culture in alignment with our UCSF PRIDE Values and Principles of Community is a collective effort. We recognize that every department member has a role to play in shaping our inclusive environment. To support this effort, we invite all staff members, faculty and learners to submit a request to create a project or event that promotes our mission.

The Opportunity and Impact team, in collaboration with the Vice Chair of Opportunity and Outreach, will work closely with proposal submitters to develop and implement their projects. Whether it’s organizing a workshop, hosting a panel discussion, or creating a resource guide, we encourage you to share your ideas and help us build a more inclusive culture. All are encouraged to apply.

Bring Your Kid To Work Day

As part of our commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals, the department hosts an annual Bring Your Kid to Work Day for our employees. This unique opportunity allows children and teenagers to gain a deeper understanding of the daily life and education of anesthesiologists and residents, while providing a fun and interactive experience.

Celebrating Life's Milestones: Change of Life Program

In the Department of Anesthesia, we understand that major life events can be both joyful and challenging. As part of our commitment to employee well-being, we're proud to offer the Change of Life Program, a recognition and small financial contribution or gift designed to acknowledge and support our employees during significant life milestones.

The Department of Anesthesia Volunteer Program

In the Department of Anesthesia, we believe in the power of service both within our hospital walls and far beyond them. Through volunteering, our faculty, staff, and learners can share their time, skills, and compassion to make a meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work.

We are proud neighbors and community members, and we know that lasting change starts locally. By focusing our efforts within our surrounding communities, we empower our employees to share their talents in ways that uplift others and strengthen our collective bonds.
