Biography

I am an anesthesiologist whose interests span perioperative brain health, critical care, simulation‑based education, and global collaboration. As Chair of the European Society of Anaesthesiology Trainee Committee, I studied residency models and working conditions, elevating training standards and introducing serious‑games learning for anesthesia residents. I now foster international cooperation as a member of the International Subcommittee of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS).

After earning both my MD and PhD at the University of Hamburg, I completed an anesthesiology residency and a neuro critical care fellowship at Charité in Berlin. Currently an Assistant Professor in Anesthesia and Perioperative Care at UCSF, my research focuses on perioperative brain health and novel education formats.
