Neuroanesthesia Clinical Instructor Program

Description: The program aims to provide the individual one year of advanced training in neuroanesthesia. Clinical instructors will develop sufficient depth of understanding and proficiency in the perioperative evaluation, management, and follow-up of a variety of basic and complex neurosurgical cases such that they can act as expert consultants to our surgical and medical colleagues and teach the concepts to residents. The clinical instructor spends 50% time (2 days/week) in the general operating rooms performing attending duty. The other 50% time is for their advanced training, including learning complex/specialized neurosurgical cases under supervision of neuroanesthesia faculty, elective rotations, research and teaching. The proportion of each component will depend on the clinical instructor’s interests and career goals.

Clinical: The candidate will work as a clinical instructor 2 days/week and as an attending in the general operating room with a 50% call commitment. This will provide salary support during the clinical year.

Candidate qualifications: Completion of residency/board eligible in anesthesiology for US applicants, Board certification (foreign equivalence) for international applicants
