The Orthopaedic Institute offers a comprehensive musculoskeletal service, which includes a surgery center. Common procedures performed here consist of arthroscopic surgeries on the shoulder, knee, and hip, as well as hand and foot and ankle surgeries. Since its opening in 2009, our surgical volume has steadily increased; in 2025, we handled 3,252 surgical cases. Currently, we operate five operating rooms from Monday to Friday, except on Wednesdays when we utilize two to three rooms. Our staff includes faculty members, CRNAs, and a resident/fellow who specializes in regional anesthesia. In terms of education, this rotation is a highly sought-after elective for our residents, allowing them to perform and learn a significant number of blocks in a short time frame, preparing them for independent practice after graduation.
