The team

Our anesthesiologists collaborate closely with an expert team of neurosurgeons and to execute complex procedures such as awake craniotomies, which treat multiple conditions such as brain tumors and seizures. This high acuity surgery requires our Anesthesiologists to work closely with neuromonitoring and Neurology to provide intraoperative neurologic testing for awake brain circuit testing, motor and sensory mapping, and assessment of spinal cord integrity. 

Research

Clinical and basic cerebrovascular research within the Department of Neurological Surgery is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care and the Center for Cerebrovascular Research (CCR). The CCR is a multidisciplinary team of investigators dedicated to a wide range of research focused on directly improving clinical outcomes and care for patients with cerebrovascular disorders.
