Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia

Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia collaborates within a multidisciplinary team of internationally recognized clinicians at the Pediatric Heart Center at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. We provide state-of-the-art care for patients of all ages born with congenital cardiac defects. Our faculty members offer perioperative care for both cardiac and non-cardiac procedures at two campuses (Mission Bay and Oakland) across the Bay Area. Our team actively participates in cutting-edge basic science, translational, and clinical research.

As part of a neonatal center of excellence, we collaborate with world-renowned surgeons, cardiologists, and intensivists to provide advanced care to children with complex cardiac anatomies, including premature and low-birth-weight babies. Our dedicated team is involved in every phase of our patients’ hospital stay. Our approach to patient care is grounded in the highest standards of anesthesia and continuous quality improvement.
