We are a developmental biology lab focused on cellular, molecular and genetic mechanisms of congenital heart defects. We use disease modeling, lineage tracing and genomics to better understand patterning during heart development and molecular causes of congenital heart disease, with an ultimate goal to one day apply insights from the lab to help patients with congenital heart diseases. We are a growing laboratory. We have collaborations with the Bruneau laboratory at the Gladstone Institutes, the Kiemen laboratory at Johns Hopkins, and the Samee laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine. UCSF is home to an exceptional community of scientific and clinical excellence, and San Francisco and the Bay Area is a wonderful place to live and work.
