Well-being

In 2025, we implemented several initiatives to support faculty well-being and engagement. We solidified improved access to parking, a top priority for our faculty members. To address the challenges of working across multiple sites throughout the Bay Area, the Clinical Operations team distributed a Faculty Scheduling Preferences survey, with ongoing efforts to better integrate faculty input, enhance scheduling transparency, and strengthen data analytics. We are using insights from the Spring 2025 WISH (Well-Being Influencers Survey for Healthcare) Inventory in collaboration with faculty and residency stakeholders to address key areas for improvement. We also launched the Co-OR (Co-designing solutions for well-being and patient safety in the Operating Room) project at Mission Bay adult operating rooms and the Anesthesia Clinical Faculty Professionalism Incentive Pilot Program. Ongoing initiatives such as “Gather with Gropper” sessions and well-being working groups continue to foster engagement with leadership and increase faculty involvement in departmental decision-making.
