The Education Unit coordinates activities in support of the several training programs for medical students, residents and fellows. Programs include the core clerkship training for UCSF and visiting learners; the residency program that’s won recognitin as one of the largest and best in the nation; and fellowship programs that foster the development of advanced skills in specialized areas of clinical care, research and teaching.

Manages all elective clinical training programs for UCSF and visiting medical students, including the longitudinal integrated clerkships programs that all medical students must complete. Onboards learners and coordinates their schedules with faculty at five campuses.

Responsibilities include anesthesia toolbox, onboarding, events, scheduling, leave tracking, lectures, recruitment, ACGME site visits and reporting to ACGME for all fellowships.

Coordinates educational activities such as Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, Grand Rounds, Mobidity and Mortality sessions (M&M); monitors CRNA CME reporting, faculty CME reporting; and provides reimbursement and payroll assistance.

Responsibilities include scheduling, lectures, recruitment and onboarding and offboarding of pediatric medicine and pain anesthesia fellowships. Coordinates the anesthesia core clerkship for the school of medicine required of all medical students.
