Professor Roland Bainton, MD, PhD, Receives PBBR Funding

Professor Roland Bainton, MD, PhD, has received a New Frontiers Research Award from the UCSF Program for Breakthrough Biomedical Research (PBBR), for his proposal, “Interrogating the biologic cost of robust chemoprotection of the brain: Using ICA to identify novel genomic markers of neuro-protection and age-related CNS pathogenesis.” Read more about Dr. Bainton’s research, here. The purpose of the New Frontiers Research Award is to “support researchers proposing projects at high levels of risk and innovation.” The UCSF Program for Breakthrough Biomedical Research is partially funded by the Sandler Foundation.
