UCSF Anesthesia and Perioperative Care Assistant Professor, Dr. Michael Lipnick, has been awarded the Fall 2016 UCSF REAC Grant for Junior Investigators in Basic/Translational Science, for the project, Novel Methods for Accurately Measuring Blood Oxygen Saturation in Patients with Severe Anemia. The REAC Grant program awards one-year research and shared equipment grants from endowment funds given to the School of Medicine. In collaboration with UCSF Anesthesia and Perioperative Care Professors Phil Bickler and John Feiner, Dr. Lipnick’s work will focus on pulse oximetry development for low-income countries.
