The Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care is committed to the well-being of all members of the department. As part of our efforts to promote a departmental culture of well-being, we have appointed Dr. Jina Sinskey as our inaugural Associate Chair of Well-Being.

Dr. Sinskey has led strategic well-being efforts at the department, medical center, and national levels for practicing clinicians and trainees. For the past few years, she has worked closely with Dr. Dorre Nicholau, our Department's Vice Chair of Professionalism and Well-Being, to empower faculty to have a voice in enhancing their well-being and create specific well-being initiatives based on their recommendations. As the Associate Director of Anesthesia Residency Wellness Programs, she has helped design and implement a well-being and leadership curriculum for our residents. She is a member of the UCSF Physician Experience Council, which focuses on creating an optimal work experience for all physicians at UCSF. She also serves on the UCSF GME Well-Being Committee and leads a task force on faculty development efforts. She is a nationally recognized expert on clinician well-being; she has published several peer-reviewed articles and has been invited to give multiple talks at national conferences and academic institutions around the country on this subject. She is a member of the Collaborative for Healing and Renewal in Medicine GME Well-Being Leaders Network and has served as an inaugural member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Physician Well-Being since 2019. This year, she was appointed as Vice Chair of the ASA Committee on Physician Well-Being.
