Our first round of resident-led True North Leader Rounds took place in December of 2018, with focus on quality and safety improvement initiatives championed by residents and fellows. Of note was the discussion with Anesthesia Resident Michael Curtis, who reviewed the project he co-led with Anesthesia Resident Nellie Forman.

Some highlights from the rounds included:

Work to understand necessary workflows and potential barriers
Awareness of the need for engagement with interprofessional providers
Efforts to “mistake-proof” the system
Engagement with the APeX electronic medical record team

Congratulations to Drs. Curtis and Forman!
