We are proud to announce that senior anesthesia resident Michael Jung, MD, MBA, has been awarded the UCSF Excellence and Innovation Award in GME. Winners of this award must demonstrate a commitment to advancing graduate medical education at UCSF through educational and clinical quality improvement, service excellence, and innovation. Some of Dr. Jung’s recent work includes a study looking at the efficacy of using virtual reality to distract pediatric patients during anesthesia induction (awarded outstanding research project at the 2019 UCSF Resident Research Symposium, and first place poster at the 2019 WARC), and a UCSF Patient Care Funds awarded project to provide opiate return envelopes to patients. Dr. Jung will receive his Excellence in Innovation Award in GME at the UCSF GME Awards Reception on June 17.
