  • Develop ability to recognize and begin a dialogue about conscious and unconscious bias, and discrimination
  • Support others to intervene in the moment
  • Help faculty to debrief and respond to microaggressions

The UCSF School of Medicine is committed to achieving health equity in the population and creating a diverse health care workforce that finds satisfaction and fulfillment in their chosen fields.  We believe that differences do matter and that it is our responsibility to rectify a history of systematic inequality. Our goal is to train UCSF School of Medicine faculty in equity pedagogy and inclusive teaching to improve the culture of diversity, inclusion and equity.  This culture will enhance the learning environment and enable faculty and learners to more effectively address health and health care disparities, and improve patient outcomes.
