How do you attract the best and brightest to your medical specialty? In the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care at UCSF, annual skills sessions are held for medical students with an interest in the field of anesthesia. Building on the success of previous years' sessions, on April 30, 2018, Anesthesia faculty set up a medical student skills session with stations for IV placement, ultrasound, regional practice and airway. While these sessions take a great deal of planning by the participating Anesthesia faculty, there was a big turnout of medical students and all evaluated the course positively. A shout-out of thanks to all the participants who volunteered their time to help with this innovative health education event.
