Adrian Gelb, MB, ChB, Honored with The Edward A. Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award

Professor Emeritus Adrian Gelb, MB, ChB, honored with The Edward A. Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award, for the 2017 – 2019 award cycle. Created by a gift endowment from the late Edward A. Dickson, Regent of the University of California from 1913 to 1946, the Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award honors outstanding research, scholarly work, teaching, or public service activities by a UCSF emeritus/a professor that have continued since retirement. The highest priority is for support of activities that benefit the campus and for which funding is not available from other sources. The Award funding will support Dr. Gelb’s continued scholarly work with the Anesthesia Division of Global Health Equity between 2017 and 2019. Specifically, his proposal title is: “Medicine Fostering Quality and Safety in Anesthetic Practice in the Developing World.”

UCSF Emeritus/a professors are eligible to apply the 2019-21 UCSF Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award. Each award is for a maximum of $10,000 and is made to the emeritus/a professor for the upcoming two fiscal years.  Application deadline March 13, 2019.
