Welcome to UCSF Anesthesia

Please provide the following information through the National Resident Matching Program (Be sure to disable Block Pop-ups within your browser to access this site.) and the Electronic Residency Application Service.

1) Curriculum Vitae.
2) Personal Statement.
3) Medical School Transcript/USMLE scores.
4) Dean's Letter.
5) 3 letters of recommendation.

The selection process begins only when the application is complete.

Applicants are responsible for ascertaining that the application has been completed and the Department receives all necessary materials. The Resident Selection Committee reviews all completed applications and selects applicants for interviews.

Due to the large number of applicants, personal interviews with faculty will be arranged by invitation only. We will interview applicants during the months of December and January (typically on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). We will accept applications for open positions throughout the time we interview.

You may visit the UCSF Graduate Medical Education web site for appointment information, contracts, policies, and guidelines.

PLEASE NOTE THIS NEW UCSF GME POLICY CHANGE: A passing score on USMLE Step II (CS and CK) is required for all trainees beginning a UCSF GME program June 2010 and later. To meet this requirement, programs must rank only candidates who have passed USMLE Step II (CS and CK). Selection Policy
